Moving in Wrightwood

Cabins on wooded, sloped lots

Most Wrightwood homes are cabins and two-story mountain houses on sloped lots, with stairs, decks, lofts and narrow driveways. We look at the access before moving day, size the truck to the street and send enough movers so the stairs do not slow the day. Floors, railings and decks are protected.

Snow and the roads in

Wrightwood gets snow in winter, and Mountain High brings ski traffic on winter weekends. Highway 2 west of town toward the Angeles Crest often closes in winter, so trucks come in from the I-15 side. If snow or chain controls make the roads unsafe, we agree on another day with you. Driveways and steps need to be clear of snow and ice.

Moves down the hill

Many Wrightwood moves go down to the Inland Empire or the High Desert, to Rancho Cucamonga, Upland or Hesperia. These are local hourly moves with double drive time between the two addresses. For a few pieces to or from a cabin, see small and single-item moves.

How it works

Your Wrightwood move in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the move

Call or send the form with both addresses. A short phone or video walk-through of your Wrightwood home sizes the crew and the truck.

  2. Step 2: Get a written estimate

Hourly rate, crew size and estimated hours in writing before you book. Weekday and mid-month dates are the easiest to get.

  3. Step 3: Moving day

The lead mover calls ahead, the crew protects floors and door frames and wraps every piece of furniture before it leaves the room.

  4. Step 4: Set up in the new home

Furniture placed where you want it, beds and tables put back together, and a walk-through with you before the crew leaves.

Tips for your move

Moving to the Inland Empire: Cities, Commutes and Heat

Most people moving to the Inland Empire tell us the same thing: they want more space. A bigger yard, a garage that fits a car, a newer house, or simply more home for the money than they could find in Los Angeles or Orange County. Our headquarters is in Moreno Valley, so the Inland Empire is home turf for our crews, and we see what works (and what goes wrong) on moving day across both counties.

Moving to North County San Diego: Coast vs. Inland Guide

North County San Diego is the stretch of San Diego County between Camp Pendleton and the city of San Diego. When people talk about moving to North County San Diego, they usually mean one of five cities: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos or Escondido. Our Escondido office runs moves across all of them, and the first question we help people answer is simple: coast or inland?

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California: A Guide

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California is one of the most common long-distance moves in the state. We see it from San Francisco, the East Bay, the Peninsula, San Jose and Sacramento, headed to Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego. Because the whole trip stays inside California, it works differently from a local hourly move, and knowing how it works makes planning much easier.
