Upright pianos
Lid and keyboard locked, body blanket-wrapped and strapped to a piano dolly, ramped into the truck and tied to the wall.
Upright and grand pianos, pool tables and safes moved by crews trained for them, with the right dollies, skid boards and straps and a flat fee quoted before moving day. Booked on their own or as part of your household move.
Added to the hourly or flat move price. Stairs change the fee; nothing else does.
| Item | Fee | With stairs |
|---|---|---|
| Upright piano | $199 | $299 |
| Baby grand or grand piano | $249 | $349 |
| Safe | $99 | $199 |
| Pool table | Disassembly $149, reassembly $199 | Table move quoted by the office |
Pianos and safes on their own (no other furniture) are quoted as a single-item move. Call (877) 671-3535.
Lid and keyboard locked, body blanket-wrapped and strapped to a piano dolly, ramped into the truck and tied to the wall.
Legs, lyre and pedals removed, the body wrapped and placed on a skid board, reassembled and leveled at the new home.
Felt, rails, pockets and slate disassembled by a trained crew, slate carried flat, table reassembled and leveled on site.
Weight confirmed in advance, moved on heavy-duty dollies with floor protection, bolted down again on request.
With that information the fee is fixed before the crew arrives. After a piano move we recommend letting it settle for a couple of weeks before tuning.
Specialty moves anywhere in our five counties, and on long-distance trips with the rest of the home.

Verified Great guys to work with The guys were fast, nice and great to work with. They were also honest and careful with all of my belongings. I say honest because something was broken and they showed me before moving it. They did NOT break it. They just noticed it had been repaired and instead of pretending nothing was wrong, they pointed it out even though I may have thought they did it. It was from the previous move.
I recently used JFK moving for a second time. Just like the first time the service was excellent, they arrived on time, and there were no extra charges or outrageous fees. The movers were so skilled and were able to get my furniture in and out without any problem. The workers handled my items with care and put them just where I wanted them At the end of the move, I actually thought the fee would be more than it was. If you’re considering a move, I highly recommend JFK moving. As a two time customer, I could say that the service was outstanding both times.
The team was great and was very thorough moving all our things, checking in with us throughout the process. It was a super long day but they were friendly and made the moving process less stressful. Definitely will use them again for our next move.
Windsor Hills, Windsor Hills, CA I hired JFK moving on 3 separate occasions, and I have to say that the service I receive from a crew that was led by a guy named Benny was exceptional. If you call them to get a quote, they beat everyone's pricing! However, Benny and his crew are who you ask for to get the job done right!
JFK Movers were excellent. They were friendly, efficient and professional. I was very grateful that they offered to put my personal , non- storage items in my car. I had a recent knee injury so this proved to be very helpful. The movers moved my things in record time; I was impressed and will use them again in the future when I have another planned move.
Verified Oscar and his crew were amazing Oscar and his crew were amazing. Very professional and quick. They moved our 5000 sq ft home in half a day and very good pricing
An upright piano weighs 300 to 500 pounds with most of the weight high in the case; a grand piano cannot leave a room without its legs removed; a pool table’s slate is three pieces of stone that crack if carried on edge. None of that is a two-person job with a standard dolly. Our specialty crews bring piano boards, skids, slate carriers and leveling tools, and they are the reason the flat fee exists: it covers the extra people, equipment and time rather than guessing by the hour.
Most of the pianos we move are in Los Angeles and Orange County homes with a few front steps, and most pool tables go to garages and game rooms in the Inland Empire and San Diego. Stairs, hillside driveways and narrow condo hallways are the usual complications, which is why we ask for photos of the path before fixing the fee. On long-distance moves the piano travels strapped upright against the truck wall with the rest of the household.
$199 for an upright and $249 for a baby grand or grand, or $299 and $349 when stairs are involved, in addition to the move price. A piano moved on its own is quoted as a single-item move.
Yes. Disassembly is $149 and reassembly is $199; the crew takes off the felt, rails and slate, moves the slate flat, and levels the table at the new location. The transport itself is quoted by the office based on the table.
Yes, for $99, or $199 with stairs. Tell us the approximate weight and whether it is bolted down.
Yes, after it has settled in the new room for a couple of weeks. Moving and a change of humidity both affect tuning.
Yes. The piano travels upright, wrapped and strapped to the truck wall, on the same dedicated truck as the rest of your home.
