Moving in Poway

Large lots and horse properties

Much of Poway is zoned for large lots, with horse facilities, barns, RV parking, workshops and long driveways. We ask about the road and driveway when you book, bring a truck that can turn around and include the outbuildings in the estimate. Tack, tools and outdoor furniture are wrapped and loaded separately. We do not move animals.

Family homes, condos and HOAs

Single-family neighborhoods in South Poway and along the main roads have two-story homes with full garages, and condo communities have HOA move hours and parking rules. Send us the rules; we plan the crew for the stairs and load the garage last.

Poway Road, the I-15 and Highway 67

Poway Road runs west to the I-15 and Highway 67 heads to Ramona and Lakeside. Moves to Escondido, Ramona or Santee are short hourly moves; the I-15 is slow at rush hour toward San Diego, so we start early. See local moving.

How it works

Your Poway move in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the move

Call or send the form with both addresses. A short phone or video walk-through of your Poway home sizes the crew and the truck.

  2. Step 2: Get a written estimate

Hourly rate, crew size and estimated hours in writing before you book. Weekday and mid-month dates are the easiest to get.

  3. Step 3: Moving day

The lead mover calls ahead, the crew protects floors and door frames and wraps every piece of furniture before it leaves the room.

  4. Step 4: Set up in the new home

Furniture placed where you want it, beds and tables put back together, and a walk-through with you before the crew leaves.

A four-bedroom house with a full garage is usually most of a day for four movers; barns and outbuildings add time. You get a written estimate after a short video walk-through.

Tips for your move

Moving to the Inland Empire: Cities, Commutes and Heat

Most people moving to the Inland Empire tell us the same thing: they want more space. A bigger yard, a garage that fits a car, a newer house, or simply more home for the money than they could find in Los Angeles or Orange County. Our headquarters is in Moreno Valley, so the Inland Empire is home turf for our crews, and we see what works (and what goes wrong) on moving day across both counties.

Moving to North County San Diego: Coast vs. Inland Guide

North County San Diego is the stretch of San Diego County between Camp Pendleton and the city of San Diego. When people talk about moving to North County San Diego, they usually mean one of five cities: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos or Escondido. Our Escondido office runs moves across all of them, and the first question we help people answer is simple: coast or inland?

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California: A Guide

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California is one of the most common long-distance moves in the state. We see it from San Francisco, the East Bay, the Peninsula, San Jose and Sacramento, headed to Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego. Because the whole trip stays inside California, it works differently from a local hourly move, and knowing how it works makes planning much easier.
