Historic homes and in-town neighborhoods
Old Escondido, around downtown, has Victorian and Craftsman houses with narrow doors and original floors; much of the rest of the city is single-family homes from the 1960s on, plus apartment and condo complexes along the main roads. We add floor runners and door-jamb protection in older homes and size the crew so apartment stairs do not stretch the day.
Hillside and ranch properties
Toward Felicita, the San Pasqual Valley and neighboring Valley Center and Hidden Meadows, many homes sit on large lots with long or steep driveways, barns and outbuildings. We check the access before moving day, bring a truck that can turn around and add the sheds and garage to the inventory so the estimate is right.
Heat, freeways and Cruisin’ Grand
Escondido is warmer than the coast, so summer moves start early. The city sits on the 15 and the 78, which makes moves anywhere in North County short, but both are slow at rush hour. On Friday evenings in spring and summer, Cruisin’ Grand fills downtown Grand Avenue with classic cars; plan a downtown move for another time.
