Moving in Newport Beach

Beach lots, alleys and the islands

Homes on the Balboa Peninsula, Balboa Island and Lido Isle sit on narrow lots, often with garage access from an alley and living space on two or three floors. Streets are tight and parking is scarce, especially in summer. We check the access before moving day, bring a truck that fits the street and, where needed, use a smaller vehicle to shuttle furniture.

Gated communities and large homes

Newport Coast, Harbor View and the hillside neighborhoods have large homes, many behind guard gates with HOA move hours and vendor rules. Send us the gate instructions and HOA requirements and we plan around them. Large homes with art, stone-top tables and designer furniture get extra blankets and boxes, and our packing service can box the fragile pieces.

Offices and summer traffic

Office moves around Newport Center and the airport area near John Wayne Airport usually need a certificate of insurance and dock or elevator times, which we arrange ahead; see office moving. Pacific Coast Highway and Balboa Boulevard are slow on summer weekends, so weekday mornings are the best time to move.

How it works

Your Newport Beach move in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the move

Call or send the form with both addresses. A short phone or video walk-through of your Newport Beach home sizes the crew and the truck.

  2. Step 2: Get a written estimate

Hourly rate, crew size and estimated hours in writing before you book. Weekday and mid-month dates are the easiest to get.

  3. Step 3: Moving day

The lead mover calls ahead, the crew protects floors and door frames and wraps every piece of furniture before it leaves the room.

  4. Step 4: Set up in the new home

Furniture placed where you want it, beds and tables put back together, and a walk-through with you before the crew leaves.

Tight beach access or a large home with fragile furniture adds time, which the estimate shows up front. You get a written estimate after a short video walk-through.

Tips for your move

Moving to Orange County: A Mover’s Guide to OC Cities

Orange County looks small on a map, but moving to Orange County really means choosing between three different kinds of place: the beach cities, the older central core and the master-planned south. Our crews run Orange County moves every week from our Anaheim office, and the right pick usually comes down to three things: your commute, the type of home you want and how much space you need for your budget.

Moving to the Inland Empire: Cities, Commutes and Heat

Most people moving to the Inland Empire tell us the same thing: they want more space. A bigger yard, a garage that fits a car, a newer house, or simply more home for the money than they could find in Los Angeles or Orange County. Our headquarters is in Moreno Valley, so the Inland Empire is home turf for our crews, and we see what works (and what goes wrong) on moving day across both counties.

Moving to North County San Diego: Coast vs. Inland Guide

North County San Diego is the stretch of San Diego County between Camp Pendleton and the city of San Diego. When people talk about moving to North County San Diego, they usually mean one of five cities: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos or Escondido. Our Escondido office runs moves across all of them, and the first question we help people answer is simple: coast or inland?
