Moving in Huntington Beach

Beach homes, tracts and the Harbour

Most of Huntington Beach is single-family tract homes from the 1960s and 1970s, with attached garages and wide driveways that make loading easy. Closer to the water it changes: tall, narrow homes near downtown with three floors of stairs, waterfront homes on the islands of Huntington Harbour, and small lots in Sunset Beach. We size the crew for the stairs and plan the truck position before moving day.

Condos, apartments and HOA rules

Condo and townhome communities across the city usually have HOA move hours, guest parking limits and, in larger complexes, a certificate-of-insurance requirement. Send us the rules and the gate code and we issue the COI ahead and schedule the crew to fit. In walk-ups, stairs are part of the hourly rate.

Beach traffic and event days

Pacific Coast Highway, Beach Boulevard and Main Street get very busy on summer weekends, on the Fourth of July and during the US Open of Surfing. Weekday mornings are the fastest time to move. For moves inland or up the 405, we start early to stay ahead of rush hour.

How it works

Your Huntington Beach move in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the move

Call or send the form with both addresses. A short phone or video walk-through of your Huntington Beach home sizes the crew and the truck.

  2. Step 2: Get a written estimate

Hourly rate, crew size and estimated hours in writing before you book. Weekday and mid-month dates are the easiest to get.

  3. Step 3: Moving day

The lead mover calls ahead, the crew protects floors and door frames and wraps every piece of furniture before it leaves the room.

  4. Step 4: Set up in the new home

Furniture placed where you want it, beds and tables put back together, and a walk-through with you before the crew leaves.

Tips for your move

Moving to Orange County: A Mover’s Guide to OC Cities

Orange County looks small on a map, but moving to Orange County really means choosing between three different kinds of place: the beach cities, the older central core and the master-planned south. Our crews run Orange County moves every week from our Anaheim office, and the right pick usually comes down to three things: your commute, the type of home you want and how much space you need for your budget.

Moving to the Inland Empire: Cities, Commutes and Heat

Most people moving to the Inland Empire tell us the same thing: they want more space. A bigger yard, a garage that fits a car, a newer house, or simply more home for the money than they could find in Los Angeles or Orange County. Our headquarters is in Moreno Valley, so the Inland Empire is home turf for our crews, and we see what works (and what goes wrong) on moving day across both counties.

Moving to North County San Diego: Coast vs. Inland Guide

North County San Diego is the stretch of San Diego County between Camp Pendleton and the city of San Diego. When people talk about moving to North County San Diego, they usually mean one of five cities: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos or Escondido. Our Escondido office runs moves across all of them, and the first question we help people answer is simple: coast or inland?
