Mountain roads and steep driveways

Lake Arrowhead homes sit on narrow, winding roads, many with steep driveways, tight turns and little room to park a large truck. We check the access before moving day, choose a truck that can get up the road and, where a large truck cannot reach the house, shuttle furniture in a smaller vehicle. Floors, decks and stair rails are protected as standard.

Cabins, decks and stairs

Many cabins are built on slopes, with the main floor above or below the street, outdoor stairs and decks. We send enough movers to carry safely on stairs, take apart beds and tables that will not clear a turn, and wrap outdoor furniture. Stairs and long carries are never billed as extras on hourly moves.

Weather and the drive up the mountain

Moves up and down the mountain use Highway 18, the Rim of the World Highway, or Highway 330 through Running Springs. In winter, snow and chain controls can close or slow the roads, so we watch the forecast with you and move the date if the roads are not safe. Moves to San Bernardino, Redlands and the rest of the Inland Empire are local hourly moves; see local moving.

How it works

Your Lake Arrowhead move in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the move

Call or send the form with both addresses. A short phone or video walk-through of your Lake Arrowhead home sizes the crew and the truck.

  2. Step 2: Get a written estimate

Hourly rate, crew size and estimated hours in writing before you book. Weekday and mid-month dates are the easiest to get.

  3. Step 3: Moving day

The lead mover calls ahead, the crew protects floors and door frames and wraps every piece of furniture before it leaves the room.

  4. Step 4: Set up in the new home

Furniture placed where you want it, beds and tables put back together, and a walk-through with you before the crew leaves.

Tips for your move

Moving to the Inland Empire: Cities, Commutes and Heat

Most people moving to the Inland Empire tell us the same thing: they want more space. A bigger yard, a garage that fits a car, a newer house, or simply more home for the money than they could find in Los Angeles or Orange County. Our headquarters is in Moreno Valley, so the Inland Empire is home turf for our crews, and we see what works (and what goes wrong) on moving day across both counties.

Moving to North County San Diego: Coast vs. Inland Guide

North County San Diego is the stretch of San Diego County between Camp Pendleton and the city of San Diego. When people talk about moving to North County San Diego, they usually mean one of five cities: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos or Escondido. Our Escondido office runs moves across all of them, and the first question we help people answer is simple: coast or inland?

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California: A Guide

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California is one of the most common long-distance moves in the state. We see it from San Francisco, the East Bay, the Peninsula, San Jose and Sacramento, headed to Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego. Because the whole trip stays inside California, it works differently from a local hourly move, and knowing how it works makes planning much easier.
