Cabins, stairs and steep driveways
Many Big Bear homes are cabins and chalets on sloped lots, with outside stairs, decks, lofts and narrow or steep driveways. We look at the access before moving day, size the truck to the road and the driveway, and send enough movers so the stairs do not slow the day down. Furniture is wrapped in blankets, and floors and railings are protected.
Snow, chain controls and the drive up
The routes up are Highway 330 from Highland to Running Springs and then Highway 18 along the rim, or Highway 38 from Redlands. In winter, chain controls can slow or stop a moving truck. We watch the forecast with you and, if the roads are not safe, agree on another day. Late spring to fall is the easiest time to move on the mountain.
Second homes and vacation rentals
Many owners furnish or empty a second home or a rental. We move a full cabin, a few rooms or single items, and can work with a property manager when you cannot be there. Moves down the hill to Redlands or Yucaipa are local hourly moves; for a few pieces see small and single-item moves.
