Master-planned communities and HOAs

Most of Carlsbad east of the 5 is planned communities: La Costa, Aviara, Bressi Ranch, Calavera Hills, Robertson Ranch and Rancho Carrillo, many with HOA move-hour rules, gates and limits on where a truck can park. Send us the gate code and the HOA’s rules and we plan around them. Larger homes often have art, mirrors and stone-top furniture; we bring enough blankets, shrink wrap and boxes for the whole house.

Carlsbad Village and coastal homes

In Carlsbad Village and along the coast, streets are narrower, parking is tight and many condo buildings ask for a certificate of insurance. We check the access first, send the COI ahead and keep the truck as close to the door as the street allows. Summer weekends near the beach are busy; weekday mornings are fastest.

Offices, events and traffic

The business parks around McClellan-Palomar Airport and Palomar Airport Road are full of tech, biotech and professional offices; we move offices after hours and on weekends, see office moving. In spring the Flower Fields and LEGOLAND traffic slow Palomar Airport Road and Cannon Road, and the 5 is slow at rush hour, so we plan the start time around them.

How it works

Your Carlsbad move in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the move

Call or send the form with both addresses. A short phone or video walk-through of your Carlsbad home sizes the crew and the truck.

  2. Step 2: Get a written estimate

Hourly rate, crew size and estimated hours in writing before you book. Weekday and mid-month dates are the easiest to get.

  3. Step 3: Moving day

The lead mover calls ahead, the crew protects floors and door frames and wraps every piece of furniture before it leaves the room.

  4. Step 4: Set up in the new home

Furniture placed where you want it, beds and tables put back together, and a walk-through with you before the crew leaves.

Tips for your move

Moving to North County San Diego: Coast vs. Inland Guide

North County San Diego is the stretch of San Diego County between Camp Pendleton and the city of San Diego. When people talk about moving to North County San Diego, they usually mean one of five cities: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos or Escondido. Our Escondido office runs moves across all of them, and the first question we help people answer is simple: coast or inland?

Moving to the Inland Empire: Cities, Commutes and Heat

Most people moving to the Inland Empire tell us the same thing: they want more space. A bigger yard, a garage that fits a car, a newer house, or simply more home for the money than they could find in Los Angeles or Orange County. Our headquarters is in Moreno Valley, so the Inland Empire is home turf for our crews, and we see what works (and what goes wrong) on moving day across both counties.

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California: A Guide

Moving from the Bay Area to Southern California is one of the most common long-distance moves in the state. We see it from San Francisco, the East Bay, the Peninsula, San Jose and Sacramento, headed to Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego. Because the whole trip stays inside California, it works differently from a local hourly move, and knowing how it works makes planning much easier.
