Apartments, condos and walk-ups
Most West Hollywood moves are apartments: older walk-ups with exterior stairs, courtyard buildings, and newer condos along Santa Monica Boulevard and Sunset with loading docks, elevator bookings and certificate-of-insurance rules. We send the COI ahead, book the crew into the elevator window and size the crew so the stairs do not stretch the day.
Parking on busy streets
Curb space is scarce on most blocks, and permit parking covers much of the city. Keeping the truck close to the door is what keeps the move short, so we look at the street before moving day. Weekday mornings are the easiest time; avoid evenings and weekends near the Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Boulevard, and event days such as Pride.
Hillside homes above Sunset
The streets north of Sunset are steep and narrow. We check the access, bring a truck that can turn around and, where needed, shuttle furniture in a smaller vehicle.
