Moving in Studio City

Hillside homes south of Ventura

The streets south of Ventura Boulevard climb into the hills off Laurel Canyon and Coldwater Canyon, with steep driveways, tight turns and homes set above or below the street. We check the access before moving day, bring a truck that can park and turn around, and shuttle furniture in a smaller vehicle when a full-size truck cannot reach the house. Stairs are part of the hourly rate.

Apartments, condos and flats neighborhoods

North of Ventura Boulevard, Studio City is mostly apartments, condos and smaller single-family homes in the Silver Triangle and Colfax Meadows. Newer buildings usually ask for a certificate of insurance and an elevator reservation; older walk-ups mean stairs and tight street parking. We send the COI ahead and size the crew so the move stays short.

Studio traffic and timing

CBS Studio Center on Radford Avenue brings traffic on weekday mornings and evenings, and Ventura Boulevard, Laurel Canyon and the 101 and 134 are slow at rush hour. Mid-morning starts on a weekday usually work best. Moves to Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood and Burbank are short hourly moves. See local moving.

How it works

Your Studio City move in four steps

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the move

Call or send the form with both addresses. A short phone or video walk-through of your Studio City home sizes the crew and the truck.

  2. Step 2: Get a written estimate

Hourly rate, crew size and estimated hours in writing before you book. Weekday and mid-month dates are the easiest to get.

  3. Step 3: Moving day

The lead mover calls ahead, the crew protects floors and door frames and wraps every piece of furniture before it leaves the room.

  4. Step 4: Set up in the new home

Furniture placed where you want it, beds and tables put back together, and a walk-through with you before the crew leaves.
